A photograph that stays on a screen is forgotten by morning. Ours is printed, mounted and placed in the guest’s hands before they return to the room.
A few minutes, one guest at a time, guided rather than posed, under a light set for the room.
A single frame is chosen with the guest, quietly, away from any screen on display.
Printed on site and mounted under a hand-cut mat, marked with the hosts’ names.
The complete set appears in a private gallery within twenty-four hours, for the hosts alone to release.
A quiet space set apart, for the length of an evening. One guest at a time, one frame, one moment held still. Not a photo booth, and not the event photographer’s coverage: something in between, for those who wish to be seen closely, briefly, and with care.
Conceived for private weddings, galas and celebrations along the French Riviera, from Saint-Tropez to Monaco, Le Private Studio offers a restrained, guided portrait sitting at the heart of the evening, without ever interrupting it. Guests step away for a few minutes, into a space made of light and stillness rather than props, and return to the celebration with a portrait that belongs to them alone.
A single corner of the venue, set with care, with no queue and no break in the rhythm of the evening.
A short, unhurried sitting, guided rather than directed, so that what appears in the frame is theirs, not a pose.
The portrait is printed, mounted and handed over during the evening. Not a strip from a machine, but something to carry home.
Trained as a photographer, Lawrence began his career in a Paris fashion studio, Day Light, before moving into the world of international press agencies, where one learns to read a room quickly and to work without being noticed. Thirty years later, he works across the French Riviera and beyond, at home on private yachts, at destination weddings in Europe and further afield, and within the demanding rhythm of high society receptions, from Saint-Raphaël to Monaco. His work has been featured among the Editors’ Choice on MyWed, and recognised by WeddingWire among the ten best wedding photographers in France.
For years, Lonata has photographed people at the most meaningful moments of their lives, from intimate celebrations on the French Riviera to destination weddings around the world. Her approach is instinctive and deeply human. Rather than directing every gesture, she observes, connects, and creates the space in which people can simply be themselves, a sensitivity that led her naturally to portraiture, and then to co-founding Le Private Studio alongside Lawrence. Based on the French Riviera and accustomed to an international clientele, she brings to every sitting the qualities that have always defined her work: restraint, intuition, and a rare gift for putting people at ease.
A selection from recent sittings. New portraits are added after each event.
Two perspectives, one shared discipline. Years spent moving through demanding settings without ever drawing attention, from private yachts to grand estates, learning to belong to a room without altering it. Le Private Studio carries that same discretion into every portrait. No direction that feels staged, no presence that draws attention to itself. Only the work, and what it leaves behind.
Everything required to place us in the run of show. We work to your timeline, not our own.
Le Private Studio travels for private weddings, galas and events across the French Riviera and the wider European circuit of grand receptions, working closely with wedding planners and event organisers in each city.
